Toronto Common guests can also enjoy an optional medium gelato ($6.50 regular price) for the price of a small, $5 all in. First two Early Bird tickets include the medium gelato as part of our May Early Bird promotion for all Toronto Common events.

Warm days are precious in Toronto, be prepared with a little taste of Italy at the ready!

.Gelato owner Alessandro has been making gelato with his mother in Rome since 1995, who started making gelato 22 years before that.
Alessandro brought their unique recipes and old world technique to Toronto in 2010 and still imports everything from premium ingredients to containers to the sample spoons direct from Italy where his mom owned and operated their location in Rome until 2013.
Alessandro enjoys being creative in his gelato lab, creating flavours that keep pushing the envelope on how people view gelato with over 163 recipes on rotation including spicy chocolate, black liquorice and pepper, and lime cilantro to name a few.
.Gelato also offers the best of imported Italian espresso, cookies, panettone, crepes and piadinas (Italian flatbread sandwiches), always with a focus on sourcing the best possible, authentic Italian ingredients.

Family Style Fried Chicken Dinner at Harlem Underground

Posted on Updated on

Since the inception of Toronto Common we’ve really wanted to do a family style dinner, there’s just something about passing food around a table that makes a meal that much more fun and who doesn’t love fried chicken! 🙂

Harlem Underground, renowned for their fried chicken and southern comfort, was the perfect place for our first family style dinner.

Their private back room was a great cozy space for a gathering and their selection of collard greens, rice and peas, island coleslaw, bacon mac & cheese and more were the perfect accompaniments!

“Great, I don’t have to think!” one of our guests exclaimed when he realized the menu was already set, having just arrived from the UK that day and feeling a bit jet lagged.

And with such a great selection and lots of people to share with, family style dinning is a great way to try new dishes you may not usually order as well as enjoy great company.

We spend less time looking at menus and deciding what to order and more time enjoying and conversing with guests.

“It’s like letting the restaurant host a dinner party” another guest said.

We’d like to thank all our attendees and Harlem Underground for hosting such a great dinner!

We have two more fried chicken events in April and we hope to see you there!

April 8th, 7-9pm

April 22nd, 7-9pm
